  • S&P affirmed Eurobank’s long-term issuer credit ratings at BBB-, with a stable outlook. The rating action follows Eurobank’s announcement of a preliminary agreement to increase its holding in the Greek insurance company Eurolife Life. The transaction does not change the agency’s assessment that Eurobank has adequate capital and earnings. However, it is expected to reduce the group’s RAC ratio by 80–100 bps and its CET1 ratio by 120 bps. S&P nevertheless expects the bank to maintain its CET1 ratio well above 13%, supported by its resilient operating performance and its capacity to issue AT1 instruments, as it has not yet fully utilized its AT1 bucket.
