- Greece mandated Alpha Bank, Barclays, Citi, Commerzbank, Nomura and Societe Generale as Joint Lead Managers for their upcoming increase of the existing 10-year GGB Benchmark due 16th June 2036. The transaction will be launched today, subject to market conditions.
Source: Bloomberg - Government spokesperson Pavlos Marinakis reiterated yesterday that elections will be held at the end of New Democracy’s current term in 2027, dismissing speculation about snap polls this autumn. Marinakis said the government’s position remains unchanged, describing it as a strategic decision aimed at delivering on key commitments, including wage increases and the implementation of major infrastructure projects.

- Optima Bank has appointed Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas as joint bookrunners to arrange a series of fixed-income investor calls ahead of a potential EUR 200 mn PNC5 AT1 bond offering. The transaction remains subject to market conditions and investor demand.
Source: Bloomberg - Lamda Development raised EUR 350 mn at a yield of 4.20% through the issuance of a 5-year bond. Demand was relatively strong with the final order book reaching EUR 593.4mn.
Source: Athens Euronext - PPC announced the signing of a non-binding term sheet with Vodafone Greece outlining the key principle for the creation of a potential 50:50 joint venture, to be formed through the merger of their respective subsidiaries FiberGrid (subsidiary PPC), and Fiber2All (subsidiary Vodafone).The new company will operate in the wholesale provision of FTTH network services in Greece.
Source: Athens Euronext - According to sources cited by Euro2day.gr, Bally’s Intralot has applied for both licence types available under Greece’s current online gaming regulatory framework. The application includes a Type 1 licence, which covers online betting activities, primarily fixed-odds products such as sports betting, and a Type 2 licence, which covers other online gaming activities, including online casino products such as RNG games, live casino, roulette, blackjack and poker. Each licence carries a fee of EUR 3 mn and is valid for seven years.

- Provisional data released by CyStat showed that in the period of January – April 2026 the trade balance was in deficit of EUR 3,057.1mn compared to a deficit of EUR 2,674.6 mn in the corresponding period of 2025. Total imports of goods in April amounted to EUR 1,370.7mn (15.1% y-o-y) while total exports were EUR 363.6mn (-7.6% y-o-y).
