DBRS Forecasts 2026 GDP Growth of 2.5% for Cyprus and 1.9% for Greece

GREECE

Macro/Political:

  • DBRS, in its baseline macroeconomic scenarios, expects Greece’s economic growth to be 1.9% in 2026(decrease by -0.1% from Mar 26) and 1.8% in 2027. It also projects that unemployment will stand at 8.4%(increase by 0.2% from Mar 26) in 2026 and decreased to 7.8% in 2027.

Markets:

  • Hellenic Telecommunications (OTE) announced yesterday that it had issued a new EUR 100mn bond, maturing in June 2027. The bond carries an annual yield of 2.951% and was fully subscribed by Deutsche Telekom AG.

CYPRUS

Macro/Political:

  • DBRS, in its baseline macroeconomic scenarios, expects Cyprus’s economic growth to be 2.5% in 2026(decrease by -0.5% from Mar 26) and 2.5% in 2027(decrease by -0.2% from Mar 26). It also projects that unemployment will stand at 4.5% in both year 2026 and 2027.
