Cyprus’s GDP growth in Q4 2025 stood at 4.5%

• The Overall Turnover Index in Industry in February 2026 decreased by 4.6% (y-o-y) and increased by 3.5% (m-o-m).

• A joint letter sent by the governments of Greece and Cyprus to the European Investment Bank requested a new due diligence study, rather than additional funding, for the Great Sea Interconnector project. Following reports that further funding had been requested, sources close to the matter clarified that the two governments had asked the EIB not to allocate more funds to the project itself, but instead to carry out its own assessment of the project and its future.

• Turkey’s foreign minister has described the military cooperation between Israel, Greece, and Cyprus as a clear “priority threat,” in remarks that Athens views as part of a broader diplomatic campaign to isolate Greece within Europe. Speaking at the Antalya Diplomatic Forum, Hakan Fidan said that no European country has pursued military cooperation with Israel to the same extent as Greece and warned that the trilateral partnership signals hostile intent not only toward Turkey, but also toward other regional states.
