Greece raises EUR 400mn at 2.58% through 26-week T-bill auction

  • The Greek PDMA announced that during the 26W T-Bills auction of EUR 400mn which took place yesterday, the total bids reached EUR 1,021mn and the amount finally accepted was EUR 500mn at a uniform yield of 2.58% (vs 2.34 % in the previous 26W T-Bills auction in August 2026).

  • Chevron country manager Betrice Bienvenu, held a meeting with Greek Energy Minister Stavros Papastavrou in New York, the ministry after the meeting said the research in the Ionian Sea, south of Peloponnese and Crete will start by the end of the year.

  • President Christodoulides is scheduled to meet with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres today, as part of his visit to New York for the UN General Assembly. It is important to note that, during the UN General Assembly yesterday, Christodoulides called on Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to allow negotiations on the Cyprus problem to proceed within the framework agreed at the UN. He also said that the division of the island will not be accepted.

  • According to a written statement of government spokesperson Konstantinos Letympiotis, President Christodoulides in a meeting with the VP of Exxon Mobil, John Ardill, stated that the fastest development of the discovery of natural gas in the Cyprus EEZ is a major priority for the government. Furthermore, the president stressed the importance of maintaining the momentum that has been created and expediting the assessment of available development options, with the aim of submitting the Development and Production Plan as soon as possible and advancing the necessary procedures towards reaching a Final Investment Decision. He added that their development could further strengthen Cyprus’ role in the Eastern Mediterranean and contribute to Europe’s efforts to enhance energy security and diversify its sources and routes of supply. Finally, he expressed the Republic of Cyprus’ willingness to cooperate closely with ExxonMobil, which he described as an important long-term strategic partner, with the aim of translating the successes of the exploration activities into specific development and production.
