Greece’s balance of travel services in July 2026 posted a surplus of EUR 4,314.4 mn

• Based on provisional data, the balance of travel services in July 2026 posted a surplus of EUR 4,314.4 mn, up from a surplus of EUR 4,074.9 mn in June 2025. Travel receipts rose by 7.2% (y-o-y) to EUR 4,722.1mn, while travel payments also increased by 23% (y-o-y) to EUR 407.7mn. In January-July 2026, the balance of travel services showed a surplus of EUR 11,243.1mn, up from a surplus of EUR 10,087mn in the same period of 2025.

Markets:

• Moody’s Ratings affirmed NBG’s long-term deposit and senior unsecured ratings at Baa1, as well as its BCA and Adjusted BCA at Baa3. It also affirmed the bank’s subordinated (Tier 2) debt ratings at Baa3 and its non-cumulative preferred stock (AT1) rating at Ba3. However, the agency changed the outlook on the bank’s long-term deposit ratings to Positive from Stable, and the outlook on its senior unsecured debt ratings to Stable from Negative. The rating action follows the agency’s recent change in the outlook on the Government of Greece to Positive from Stable.

  • Cyprus Minister of Foreign Affairs Constantinos Kombos continued yesterday his bilateral meetings with several of his counterparts in New York on the occasion of the UN General Assembly. He also signed an Air Services Agreement with Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Olivier J.P. Nduhungirehe, aiming to increase connectivity between Cyprus and Rwanda, as well as a MoU on Political Consultations with his Romanian counterpart, Oana Toiu.
