- On July 29th Greece will auction 13 Weeks T-Bills with maturity October 30, 2026. The amount to be auctioned is EUR 400mn.

- Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has once again ruled out the possibility of early elections, reaffirming that the government is committed to completing its full four-year term. He accused opposition parties of making promises that are fiscally unsustainable and rejected calls for broader pre-election spending, stating that he would not “open the purse strings” or commit to measures that could not be implemented. Mitsotakis also criticized opposition leaders Alexis Tsipras and Nikos Androulakis over their economic proposals, arguing that they have failed to explain how they would finance them.

- The Greek government will increase its subsidy on diesel fuel by an additional EUR 0.10 per litre through August, bringing the total discount to EUR 0.15 per litre, as Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced yesterday. The EUR 30 mn measure is aimed at easing costs for transport operators and business while limiting inflationary pressures across the supply chain, Mitsotakis said in his weekly social media post.

- PPC Group has announced its entry into the Hungarian energy market, one of Europe’s fastest-growing clean energy markets, through an agreement with Greenvolt Group to acquire an operational 57.5 MW photovoltaic (PV) park in southern Hungary. The agreement with Greenvolt Group—an international renewable energy platform backed by global investment firm KKR—also includes the option to acquire a 49 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) currently under development in the same area. This strategic investment expands PPC Group’s renewable energy portfolio and strengthens its presence in Central and Southeastern Europe.

- Tonight, the UN Secretary-General will arrive in Cyprus and is scheduled to meet President Christodoulides tomorrow. In the meantime, his Personal Envoy, María Ángela Holguín, will meet President Christodoulides today at 9:30 a.m., followed by a meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman at 11:00 a.m.
Yesterday, the Government, through Deputy Government Spokesperson Yiannis Antoniou, stressed that “we are cautiously optimistic, we remain realistic, and we recognise that the road ahead is long and difficult. Nevertheless, our historic duty requires perseverance and steadfast commitment to the ultimate goal of freeing our country from the shackles of occupation.”
