- In November 2025, the number of issued building permits in Greece amounted to 2,910 (9.9%, y-o-y). In the last twelve months from December 2024-November 2025, Total Building Activity (private public) in Greece recorded a 1.4% decrease in the number of issued building permits, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

- Piraeus Bank’s net income in 4Q25 stood at EUR 250mn compared to EUR 261 mn in 3Q25. FY25 net profit stood at EUR 1,070mn. The Bank’s NPE ratio was 2.0% and NPE coverage ratio at 73%. Total Capital ratio and CET1 ratio stood at 18.7% and 12.7% respectively.

CYPRUS
Macro/Political:
- President Nikos Christodoulides travelled to Rome on Thursday for a two-day official visit, during which he is scheduled to meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Sergio Mattarella. The main focus of the visit will be strengthening Cyprus–Italy bilateral relations. Discussions will also cover the Cyprus problem and preparations related to the upcoming EU Council Presidency. In addition, President Christodoulides is set to meet with ENI CEO Claudio Descalzi to finalise planning efforts aimed at exporting natural gas to the European Union via Egypt.

The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 5.3%, compared with 6.5% in December 2025. The outstanding amount of total deposits reached EUR 56.9bn. Total loans in January 2026 recorded a net increase of EUR 76.4mn, compared with a net increase of EUR 587.2mn in December 2025. The annual growth rate stood at 11.2%, compared with 10.7% in December 2025. The outstanding amount of total loans reached EUR 26,9bn.
