  • Based on provisional data, the balance of travel services in December 2025 posted a surplus of EUR 313.2mn, up from a surplus of EUR 170.7 mn in December 2024. Travel receipts rose by 33% (y-o-y) to EUR 623 mn, while travel payments also increased by 4% (y-o-y) to EUR 309.9mn. In January-December 2025, the balance of travel services showed a surplus of EUR 20,255.2mn, up from a surplus of EUR 18,787.0mn in the same period of 2024.

Markets:

  • Metlen and Shell plc signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) yesterday establishing a cooperation framework for the supply and distribution of LNG.
    Under the agreement, the two companies plan to supply and distribute approximately 0.5–1.0 bcm annually over the five-year period of 2027–2031. Deliveries are expected to be made to Greece’s LNG regasification facilities in Revithousa and Alexandroupolis.

CYPRUS

Macro/Political:

  • President Nikos Christodoulides described his meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman on Tuesday as open and honest. Christodoulides said, among other things, that he and Erhürman agreed to provide guidelines to Greek Cypriot negotiator Menelaos Menelaou and Erhurman’s undersecretary, Mehmet Dana, regarding confidence-building measures. Furthermore, Christodoulides referred to his proposal for a second crossing point to be located in Nicosia’s old town. Finally, he said that the two leaders will meet again soon.
