Macro/Political:
- Scope and Moody’s credit rating reviews of the Greek economy are scheduled for release today. The agencies currently rate Greece at BBB and Baa3, respectively, with a positive outlook from Scope and a stable outlook from Moody’s.

- Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said yesterday that the government would announce a support package next week aimed at containing heating oil costs ahead of the winter season, with contributions from both the state and domestic refineries. Speaking on television, Mitsotakis said heating oil prices would fall below EUR 1.75 per litre, the level at which the previous season ended. Mitsotakis also added that support measures for diesel fuel would be extended through October.
Finally, Mitsotakis noted that Greece was in a stronger position than many of its European peers despite international market turbulence, noting that the country was borrowing more cheaply than Italy and France and that fuel adequacy was secured.

Markets:
- PPC and Amazon Web Services have signed an MoU setting out the framework and principal terms for the development of a data centre facility in Agios Dimitrios, Western Macedonia. Under the framework, AWS will lease the data centre facility upon completion under a long-term lease of 15 years. PPC will provide the site, buildings and supporting energy infrastructure, while AWS will install and operate the IT infrastructure.

Macro/Political:
- In its macroeconomic forecast –September 2026, the Central Bank of Cyprus (CBC) projects that the Cypriot economy will grow by 2.9% this year (0.4pp from previous forecast in June 2026). For 2027 and 2028 the CBC expects Cyprus’ GDP to increase by 3.1% (0.2pp). Unemployment rate is expected to decrease to 3.8% in 2026 (from 4.4% in 2025) and stay at the same level in 2027 and 2028. According to the CBC, inflation is expected to increase to 3.3% this year, decreased to 2.4% in 2027, and 1.9% in 2028.

- The arrivals of tourists reached 581.880 in August 2026 compared to 602.026 in August 2025, recording a decrease of 3.3%. For the period of January – August 2026, arrivals of tourists totalled 2,820,649 compared to 3,034,155 in the corresponding period of 2025, recording a decrease of 7%.
