Cyprus General Government fiscal balance presented a surplus of EUR 557.6mn.

  •  Preliminary data released by CyStat showed that the General Government fiscal balance for the period of January- June 2025 presented a surplus of EUR 557,6mn (1.6% of GDP) compared to a surplus of EUR 550,7mn (1.6% of GDP) in the same period of 2024. Primary balance recorded a surplus of EUR 808.5mn versus a surplus of EUR 779.3mn in the corresponding period of 2024. During Jan- June 2025 total expenditure increased by EUR 386.7mn (+6.3%) to EUR 6,557.7 mn from EUR 6,171 mn in the corresponding period of 2024. Total revenue increased by EUR 393.6mn (+5.9%) to EUR 7,115.3 mn compared to EUR 6,721.7 mn in the same period of 2024. Particularly, in June 2025 the General government fiscal balance presented a deficit of EUR 80.6mn (Primary balance deficit at EUR 38.7mn).

  • Bank of Cyprus’s net income in 2Q25 stood at EUR 118 mn compared to EUR 117mn in 1Q25. 1H25 net profit stood at EUR 235mn versus EUR 270mn in 1H24. The Bank’s NPE ratio was 1.7% and NPE coverage ratio at 124%. Total Capital ratio and CET1 ratio stood at 25.8% and 20.6% respectively.
