Markets:
- Eurobank’s net profit in 2Q26 stood at EUR 406.9mn compared to EUR 330.8mn in 1Q26. 1H26 net profit stood at EUR 737.7mn versus EUR 690.5mn in 1H25. The Bank’s NPE ratio was 2.5% and NPE coverage ratio at 82.4%. Total Capital ratio and CET1 ratio stood at 20.3% and 15.4% respectively.
The Bank’s CEO, Fokion Karavias, stated that despite persistent geopolitical uncertainty and renewed tensions in the Middle East, the economies of the Bank’s core markets have remained on a solid growth trajectory. He added that prudent fiscal management reinforces investor confidence and creates fiscal space for targeted measures to mitigate the impact of inflation on vulnerable households. Against this backdrop, Eurobank continued to support economic growth and delivered stronger financial results, with its loan book expanding by 10%.

- Alpha Bank’s profit after tax in 2Q26 stood at EUR 316mn compared to EUR 182 mn in 1Q26. 1H26 profit after tax stood at EUR 497mn compared to EUR 522mn in 1H25. The Bank’s NPE ratio was 3.6% and NPE coverage ratio at 55%. Total Capital ratio and CET1 ratio stood at 21.7% and 16.1% respectively.
The Bank’s CEO, Vassilios Psaltis, stated that Alpha Bank delivered a strong second quarter, with results demonstrating the breadth and resilience of its business model and the success of the investments made to transform its franchise. He added that management remains focused on four strategic priorities: capturing a larger share of wallet across lending, advisory, and transaction services; expanding financial planning for individuals by offering personalised wealth and retirement guidance to a broader client base, accelerating the UniCredit partnership across both growth engines and directing investments toward initiatives that generate measurable commercial outcomes.

- NBG announced that it has signed a preliminary agreement with Dromeus to establish a long-term strategic partnership in relation to CRE, under which Dromeus will provide investment advisory and asset management services. The transaction involves the acquisition of a CRE portfolio for a consideration of EUR 0.4 bn. The impact of the transaction on NBG’s CET1 capital ratio is expected to be less than 0.1% as of 30 June 2026.

- In May 2026, revenue from tourism reached EUR 355.2 mn, recording a decrease of 4.8% as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year. For the period of January-May 2026, revenue from tourism is estimated at EUR 798.2mn compared to EUR 955.8mn in the corresponding period of 2025, recording a decrease of 16.5%.
