  • Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis stated yesterday that there is no reason to worry about visiting the country due to the crisis in the Middle East and expressed hope that disruptions to long-haul flights via the Persian Gulf will have ended by the peak summer tourist season. Speaking to an Australian Greek community newspaper, Mitsotakis stressed that Greece is a safe destination for tourists, whose presence the economy largely depends on.

  • President Nikos Christodoulides, following his meeting yesterday with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, said that “we must expect developments soon” on the Cyprus problem. He described the discussion as very substantive and productive and stressed that he and Guterres share a common goal, addressing the substance of the Cyprus problem. Guterres also noted that he shares the same view regarding the need for substantive progress before the completion of his term in office.
