Macro/Political:
- The Greek economy is expected to grow by 1.7% in 2027, 1.6% in 2028, and 1.3% in 2029, according to the finance ministry’s fiscal plan for 2026–2029. The government projects a budget deficit of 0.2% of GDP in both 2026 and 2027, a balanced budget in 2028, and a 0.1% surplus in 2029. The primary surplus) is forecast at 2.7% of GDP in 2027, a level expected to remain unchanged through 2029. Public debt is projected to fall to 119% of GDP by 2029, down from an estimated 145.9% in 2025.

- The annual growth rate of total credit extended to the domestic economy decreased to 5.4% in October 2025, from 7.8% in the previous month. The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 6% in October from 6.3% in the previous month. The monthly net flow of total credit was negative by EUR 1,701mn in October 2025, compared with a positive net flow of EUR 2,866mn in the previous month. The monthly net flow of total deposits was negative by EUR 2,576mn compared with a positive net flow of EUR 3,058mn in the previous month.

- In August 2025, the number of issued building permits in Greece amounted to 1,927 (7,8%, y-o-y). During the period January – August 2025, Total Building Activity (private-public) in Greece recorded an 8.4% decrease in the number of issued building permits, a 16.3% decrease in surface and a 9.5% decrease in volume, compared with the corresponding period of 2024.

- Total deposits in October 2025 recorded a net increase of EUR 412,3mn, compared with a net increase of EUR 670,2mn in September 2025. The annual growth rate of total deposits stood at 6,3%, remaining unchanged compared with September 2025. The outstanding amount of total deposits reached EUR 57.6bn. Total loans in October 2025 recorded a net increase of EUR 336,6mn, compared with a net increase of EUR 269mn in September 2025. The annual growth rate stood at 10.2%, compared with 7,9% in September 2025. The outstanding amount of total loans reached EUR 26,8bn.

- In September 2025, the Industrial Production Index reached 119,1 recording an increase of 4,7% compared to September 2024. For the period January – September 2025, the index recorded an increase of 3,0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
