In 2009 he returned to Cyprus and successfully set up the Investment Services team of a private bank which he headed up until 2016 before deciding to set up Athlos. He has extensive expertise in fixed income trading with a focus on the Cyprus and Greek markets, emerging markets and risk management.

Ioannis holds a BA in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham and an MSc in Financial Risk Management from the ICMA Centre, University of Reading.

In 2010 she returned to Cyprus and was hired as a Senior Private Banker at the largest Cypriot Bank. In 2017 she left to run a Cyprus Investment Firm which she headed until 2020 when she joined Athlos Capital. She has extensive experience managing High and Ultra High Net Worth Individuals’ portfolios both under execution and advisory services, across all major asset classes.

Sara holds a BSc in Business Management from King’s College London, University of London and an MSc in Shipping, Trade and Finance from Cass Business School.

There he gained comprehensive knowledge while specialising in Greek government, financial and corporate bonds. In 2015 he joined Vantage Capital Markets where he went on to successfully build the Greek desk while extending his skills to other European and EM markets. His focus at Athlos will remain on Greece and establishing a chief specialist desk within the market rooted in his experience.

Alex holds a BA in Politics with Economics from Goldsmiths College, University of London, and an MSc in Political Economy of Europe and the EU from Birkbeck College, University of London.

Prior to joining Athlos, Phanos worked as a Dealer in the Treasury department of a Cypriot local Bank where he was heavily involved in managing the Bank’s liquidity. He has gained extensive knowledge and experience in FX, derivatives and fixed income trading.

Phanos is a CFA Charterholder and holds a BSc in Economics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an MSc in Monetary and Financial Economics from the University of Cyprus.

She started her career in the Wealth Management division of Bank of Cyprus, where she headed the Group Institutional Wealth Management and Treasury Markets. She then worked at Ancoria Insurance, where she held the position of General Manager of the Products Division. Prior to joining Athlos Capital, Eleni led the Product Management Division of Jinius Ltd, gaining valuable insights from the technology sector that enriched her finance and investments expertise.

Eleni is a CFA charterholder. She holds a BSc in Mathematics and an MSc in Financial Mathematics from the University of Warwick.

He managed teams across London, Hong Kong and Madrid covering a vast majority of the IG/HY bond spectrum across different currencies. Michael has recently joined Athlos Capital as a senior portfolio manager and holds a BSc (Honors) in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science.

After gaining valuable experience in the financial services field, he returned to Cyprus and joined Renaissance Capital, where he eventually ascended to the position of VP Global Head of International Onboarding. He then joined SIB (Cyprus) Limited, where he served as the Head of Operation. Giorgos joined Athlos Capital as the Head of Depositary Services in 2023.

She is also responsible for the identification and assessment of the risks faced by the Company, the promotion of a ‘compliance culture’ at Athlos Capital as well as ensuring the overall compliance of the Company with the applicable laws and regulations. She brings valuable experience to Athlos Capital in the effective implementation of the provisions of Investment Services Law and the applicable regulatory framework.

After her studies in Law at Lancaster University where she obtained her LLB Law Honours, Maria completed her training as a Junior Lawyer and was a member of the Cyprus Bar Association as a Lawyer from 2013 to 2016. Maria’s accreditations also include the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) Advanced Certificate.

He gained exposure in non-core European bonds as well as in Financials and Emerging markets. Antonis quickly established strong relationships and became responsible for his own client base trading Greece and Cyprus. He has joined the team at Athlos Capital as part of the Greek desk.

Antonis holds a BSc in Economics from City University of London.

After graduating from University in 2015 he joined the Wealth Management Operations department at a local bank, where he worked for 5 years, gaining substantial knowledge and experience in investment operations including custody, settlement, corporate actions and cash management.

Nikolas holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration-Finance and an M.Sc. in Finance, both from the University of Cyprus.

Prior to joining Athlos, Maria worked as a Personal Assistant in one of the Big4 Companies in Cyprus.

Maria has good understanding of the Company’s aims and objectives and works closely with the Managing Director to provide administrative support. Additionally, she takes responsibility of accounts and budgets and ensures the smooth running of the office.

He started his career as an Implementation Officer at Hellenic Bank Cyprus where he gained valuable experience of the banking and financial sector.

He then worked as a New Business Officer at CNP Cyprialife supporting the Sales Network for a year before joining Athlos Capital in 2022. Constantinos has joined the Operations Team as an Operations Analyst assisting in the day-to-day operational activities of the Company.

Upon joining Athlos Capital as a Wealth Management Analyst, George’s responsibilities include assisting with the daily operations of the Wealth Management department.

George holds a Master of Science in Investment Management from Cass Business School and a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting & Finance from Leeds Beckett University.

He then worked as a Dealing and Operations Officer at Luna Wealth Asset Management Ltd supporting the Dealing on own account Department and gaining substantial knowledge and experience in investment operations including settlements, reconciliations process, corporate actions and transaction reporting. Michalis joined Athlos Capital in 2024 as an Operations Analyst assisting in the day-to-day operational activities of the Company.
