• According to Elstat, for the total of enterprises in retail trade, the turnover in 2024 amounted to EUR 71.57bn recording an increase of 2.4% (y-o-y).

• Based on provisional data, the balance of travel services in December 2024 posted a surplus of EUR 149.9 mn, up from a surplus of EUR 97.7 mn in December 2023. Travel receipts rose by 33.3% (y-o-y) to EUR 435.1mn, while travel payments also increased by 24.7% (y-o-y) to EUR 285.2 mn. In January-December 2024, the balance of travel services showed a surplus of EUR 18,918.1mn, up from a surplus of EUR 18,162 mn. in the same period of 2023.

• Data published by the CBC showed that in October 2024 the non-performing loans (aggregate data for all credit institutions) in Cyprus increased slightly by EUR 16.11mn (m-o-m) to EUR 1,612.5mn (NPL ratio at 6.63%) from EUR 1,579.34mn (NPL ratio at 6.54%) in September 2024.
